Best Methods to Eliminate Dust in Your Home

Best Methods to Eliminate Dust in Your Home

Since you will be in your home more than usual, there are a few common health hazards you should try to eliminate. One of them is dust, which can be terrible for those who suffer from allergies or asthma. Do your best to keep the air quality high by using some of these methods to eliminate dust in your home.

Replace Your Filter

The first thing you should do is replace your HVAC filter. A filter’s purpose is to collect and trap the small particles that tend to get into the air, such as dust. By staying up to date and checking your filter to see if it needs to be replaced or washed, you can take a big step in making sure there isn’t a ton of dust in your home.

Get an Air Purifier

An air purifier is another option you have to eliminate dust. Air purifiers, like furnace filters, eliminate any harmful particles that may be in the air. For this to be effective, you will want to get multiple air purifiers for your home.

Wash Bedding

A common chore that people tend to neglect is washing their bedding. To prevent the spread of dust, you will want to wash your bedding once a week or, at the very least, change it out. This can go a long way toward keeping dust mites away.

Vacuum Regularly

Vacuuming is a no brainer when it comes to keeping your home clean because one of its main functions is to get rid of any dust in your home. However, the key is to make sure you are vacuuming the areas under furniture and behind entertainment centers and bookshelves. These hard-to-reach places are where dust tends to thrive.

Use a Dryer Sheet

The last method to eliminate dust in your home is to use a dryer sheet for dusting. What many people don’t realize is that a dryer sheet can effectively remove dust from hardtop surfaces thanks to the static. The great thing about using a dryer sheet is that you are more likely to have that in your home than a feather duster.
