2 – A charger for your phone.
There is nothing – truly nothing – worse than your phone dying while you are on the road. Especially given many people use their smartphones for a GPS these days, you want to ensure that there is no chance that your phone will die in the middle of your road trip.
Make sure that you have a car charger plugged in and ready for your phone, and a backup just in case the one that you normally use gets wonky or dies. Your phone should stay charged throughout the entire duration of your road trip. Plus, you will need to have those tunes going!
3 – Snacks.
You cannot have a good road trip without some snacks. If you are someone that can get hungry, or hangry, if you do not eat for a period of time, then snacks are crucial.
Keep a box of some chips, energy bars, peanut butter, and other items that do not need to be refrigerated handy so that you can munch on something if you get hungry before your next stop on the road.
4 – Cooler with drinks.
You must ensure that you are staying hydrated throughout the duration of your road trip, and a great way to do this is by keeping a cooler in the back seat or trunk of your car full of waters, sodas, and some drinks with electrolytes such as Gatorade.
Make sure that you are keeping a good stock of drinks throughout the whole road trip and replenishing the cooler as necessary.
5 – Blanket and pillows.
For those that will not be driving, blankets and pillows are a must. During your road trip, you may find yourself getting tired, especially as you are driving through the night. Keep some blankets and pillows in the car so that you can be as comfortable as possible if you take a nap on the road.
6 – First aid kit.
You never know what may happen while you are out on the road, so it is better to be safe rather than sorry. Keep a first aid kit in your car with basic supplies such as hand sanitizer, band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and other essentials. This will be good to have in case of any emergency that might come up.
