T-7 days. Also, T-0. Today is my last day at my job. Jonathan (my partner) already let his go. This is our leap of faith and the story we want to share with you. The title of this series ‘Driven North” is not just about our geographical journey but also about what has inspired this drive to go north.
At 57 and 60 years old we are headed to Canada on a 3 or so month journey in our cute 16’ tow behind trailer and Gigi (our Nissan Frontier) who will do the grunt work of moving us and the trailer along the road. What makes this trip different, especially for me, is that there will be no itinerary and no plan. We head north from Massachusetts and cross the border and take a left. That is it. Our one geographic goal is to complete a bucket list item of mine, to see Jasper and Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Our other goal? To press the reset button on our lives and begin the next phase of our life journey. Our relationship is 2+ years young and Canada has some wide open spaces so there is a lot to discover.
