Increasing Your Home Appeal Virtually

For many years, people who have been looking to sell their home have spent a lot of time focusing on their curb appeal, and the first impression that potential buyers get as they pull up to the home. Now, in times such as these, it is more than likely that you will be working with a realtor to host virtual open houses, and potential buyers will be viewing your home through a smartphone or computer screen for the first time. So, how do you ensure that your home stands out from the others? Here are a few key ways to make your home look as appealing as possible through technology:

  • Stage your home. There are different preferences when it comes to whether you should show your home empty or staged with furniture. For a virtual experience, do your best to stage as best as possible so the potential buyer can truly visualize what it would be like for them to live there.
  • Pay attention to the layout. You may need to rearrange some furniture or items in your home to ensure that the virtual home tour showcases the space as best as possible. Ultimately, you want the virtual tour to show your space as maximized as possible. Do some tests with your own smartphones or tablets to ensure that it is shown in the best light possible.
  • Clean! Lastly, don’t forget to clean, and especially dust. You want your home to look as clean and fresh as possible for viewers, who will likely be viewing your home more than once especially if they are serious about purchasing.
