Tips on How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Family

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Family

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and whether you are celebrating with a significant other, your family, or making it into a Galentine’s Day, there are tons of fun ways to make the most of the holiday of love! If you are planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day with your family, especially your kids, we have pulled together some tips on some fun ways that you can spend the day.

Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to shower the ones you love the most with all the love in the world and is a nice opportunity to teach your kids about the importance of caring for others.

Here are some fun ways that you can spend Valentine’s Day this year:

Tips on How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Family

1 – Decorate the house together.

Even if you have decorations that you pull out each year for your home around Valentine’s Day, it is super fun to make your own decorations each year which can live on for years to come. Spend some time with the whole family decorating the home, using what you already have and crafting up some new pieces of décor as well.

Some really cute ideas include heart shaped paper chains, Valentine’s Day themed wreaths, and cut out hearts that can be taped on the walls.

2 – Have Valentine’s Day themed meals.

Take your festiveness to the next level by making your meals on Valentine’s Day all Valentine’s Day themed! For example, heart shaped pancakes, heart shaped bread for your sandwiches for lunch, and homemade heart shaped pizzas for dinner! This is a fun way to make the day festive and your kids will love making the meals together!

3 – Make Valentines together.

It is not a true Valentine’s Day without some Valentines! Your kids likely will be giving and receiving Valentines at school when they celebrate, so they will need some Valentines to give to their friends, as well as their family members!

Whether you let your kids pick out their favorite themed Valentines cards to fill out or you choose to make them homemade, this is a super fun activity that will make your kids feel good to give to their loved ones.

4 – Have a family movie or game night.

Find some family friendly Valentine’s Day themed movies and games and make a whole night out of it! For movies, get the whole family involved in picking a fun movie that everyone will enjoy, and pull out all the pillows and blankets.

For games, look up some easy Valentine’s Day themed games that you can play with the whole family, and get the competition going!

5 – Bake and enjoy some special Valentine’s Day treats.

Baking is always a family fun activity, especially when you are baking for a holiday! Bake some cookies, brownies, and cupcakes and make them themed for Valentine’s Day by purchasing pink and red frostings and sprinkles that you can decorate the baked goods with. These will be great to enjoy after dinner and during your movie and game nights!

6 – Make Valentine’s baskets for your kids.

Shower your kids with love by creating small baskets for them with all their favorite treats! This can include some of their favorite snacks and candies, some of their favorite toiletry products, or even a fun game that they love or book they have been wanting to read.

These baskets are not only exciting for your kids to open but are also a nice thoughtful gesture to show them how much you care about them on Valentine’s Day!

7 – Tell your loved ones how much you love them!

Lastly, do not forget to tell the people that you love how much you love and care about them. While this is important to do each and every day, Valentine’s Day serves as a good reminder to make sure that you are verbalizing how important your loved ones are to you.
